SUMMARY:Euroclassics Day at Virginia International Raceway (VIR)
DESCRIPTION:This popular event is hosted by one of the Shenandoah Region’s Title sponsors. It’s a non-PCA event. Monitor the Euroclassics Porsche website and your PCA enews emails for sign-up details. \nEuroclassics Porsche is a brand centered around bringing people together. Therefore\, every year they hold at Euroclassics Day to bring their community of customers\, friends\, and fellow car enthusiasts together at VIR. Euroclassics Day is a High Performance Driving Event\, so participants will go out on track in a designated driving group based on experience level. It’s open to drivers 18 or older with a valid US driver’s license and has no minimum experience requirements. Euroclassics Day is not a Porsche-exclusive event\, meaning any track-capable vehicle is eligible to participate. The entry fee and specific details for this year’s event will be in the upcoming MotorsportReg.com sign-up post\, but here is last year’s information to give you an idea of what the day entails. \nDriving groups are organized by experience level. Red: 5+ days of track experience required\, passing allowed with point-by. Yellow: 3+ days of track experience required\, passing allowed on straights only with point-by. Green: no experience needed\, pace is controlled driving single-file (controlled doesn’t mean we’re going slow). Please contact Paul Murphy at pmurphy@euroclassics.com for more information regarding which driving group you should sign up for. \nEvent Requirements \nAll participating vehicles must have a technical inspected prior to the event. Participants can have their tech inspection done at any reputable shop. If done at Euroclassics Porsche Service (804-794-3399) the tech inspection is free. The event entry fee doesn’t cover the cost of a tech inspection done by any other shop and any additional service or parts needed to pass the inspection are paid for at the owner’s expense. All participating vehicles must have a brake fluid flush performed within 90 days of the event. The tech inspection form will be available when you sign-up and your completed form must be brought to the event. \nSafety Equipment \nParticipants are required to wear a helmet with a Snell rating of Snell SA2015 or newer. Rental helmets will be available to Green driving group participants who don’t have their own. Long sleeves\, long pants\, and closed-toe shoes are required for all participants. VIR requires a fire suit for anyone driving a vehicle in which the cockpit has been altered or modified in any way so that any part of the chassis or any firewall has been exposed. Convertibles/cabriolets in the Red and Yellow driving groups must have a fixed roll bar that sits 2 inches above the driver’s helmet (Broomstick Rule). \nPlease call Euroclassics Porsche at (804) 794-6868 for additional information.
