Jonathan Perelman was the tour lead for this terrific drive. We met at Chiles Peach Orchard in Crozet which was a very nice and unique setting for the beginning of a region drive. Members were enjoying ice cream, freshly made doughnuts and purchasing some delicious fruit preserves.
We had 35 cars and 55 people attending. We had several members from the local SAAB club join us and we always enjoy having them. Our tour lead had us head south on the Blue Ridge Parkway which provided some breathtaking vistas of the east and west valleys. The elevations were amazing.
Our first stop was the Montebello Store just a short distance from the BRP. The selection of roads heading north from Montebello were nothing short of perfect Porsche Roads! We observed a group of trout fishermen preparing to do some fly fishing in a stream visible from the road.
We arrived at Hazy Mountain Winery and Brewery to our own reserved mezzanine. I was told the views from Hazy Mountain are superb, but I must say they are some of the best Virginia has to offer. Everyone had a wonderful day with excellent roads and great camaraderie at each stopping point.
