The Shenandoah Region’s second autocross event for the 2025 season took place June 29th on the Augusta County Government Center’s ample parking area. We had a very good turn-out, 39 competitors each took their turns at splitting the cones. Things did get a bit more interesting when Mother Nature decided to wet the track for them to test their car control skills just a bit more. But that’s exactly why you should consider trying your hand at autocross—to improve your car control ability in a safe environment with only cones to run in to when the limits of traction are exceeded.

The fastest time of the day was set by a 2022 Mazda MX-5 at 43.94 seconds. And proving again it’s a good autocross platform, a 2021 Miata took second place as well with a time of 44.742 seconds. Horsepower took the final podium position as a 2002 Chevy Corvette clocked a time of 44.914 seconds. Times were all close as only five seconds covered 4th place down to 27th place. Porsche Caymans and 911s took places five to ten. See all the results in the table below which is sortable by clicking on the column headers.

We hope to see you again at future Shenandoah Region autocross events!
