We had 31 folks sign-up for the cruise-in at GG’s Pizza in Goochland to enjoy Porsche fellowship and a variety of some mighty fine pies, spaghetti, and salad. If you left hungry it was your own fault! It was mighty hot and humid but that didn’t deter 27 Porsches of all body styles and one lonely (but awesome) Audi from showing up. After all, most of our cars have A/C, although some models’ units work better than others.
One nice thing about coming to GG’s is that they let us park our cars in the grassy field behind the restaurant. And there’s also a huge, old tree that gave us a lot of shade which certainly came in handy that evening. It is definitely much nicer standing in shaded grass than on hot blacktop. After an hour or so of catching up with friends, we enjoyed the spread GG’s laid-out for us on their patio. The pizzas kept coming and all of them were delicious.
But after a couple of hours or so it was time to seek the cooling air conditioning of our cars on the drive home. It was really nice seeing our region’s members and talking about past and upcoming Porsche events. The best part about the evening for me was I didn’t hear a single person ask, “Is it hot enough for you?”
