Autocross #3 on Sunday, July 15 attracted 47 drivers to the Augusta Government Center parking lot in Verona, VA. Rick Ebinger designed a course that began with a short straight followed by a right turn that led into a counterclockwise circle, a slalom, a hairpin turn, a drag-race straight, and around some walls of cones to a shot across the starting straight to the finish line. It allowed two cars on course simulaneously for more runs while the weather held out. Even so, the event was truncated by a mid-afternoon thunderstorm and monsoon, so many drivers in the “other” group made only five of the usual six runs. As Rick pointed out, nobody would have made their fastest run in the rain anyway. To see the photo gallery covering this event, .
