What a spectacular day for the first weekend in March. Early March can be
risky planning an outdoor event in Virginia. This was our second social
gathering for 2022 and the weather gods were looking out for our region. Mount
Ida proved to be a beautiful venue south of Charlottesville in Scottsville,
VA. Dan Graff suggested we place this destination on our calendar. This was a
two part endeavor. Our first stop on the Mount Ida grounds was the Craft
Cville presents Galentine’s Redo Pop Up Market. The women crafters of
Charlottesville were displaying and selling their creative work. The level of
artistic talent was very apparent. After perusing the craft displays, members
drove to the Winery and Taphouse. The beverages were delicious and everyone
enjoyed the culinary selection.
Those members sitting with David and Susana Weber were invited to play croquet
at their home upon departing Mount Ida. The Webers transferred to the
Shenandoah Region from the Northeast after finding Virginia to be such a
wonderful place to settle. They love croquet and have a professional croquet
course. Those in attendance all thought they knew how to play croquet until
they played with the Webers. What a wonderful experience to cap an already
fantastic day.
