Shenandoah Region members of the PCA met up at the Chop House Tavern in Staunton on Friday, February 28, to enjoy fine dining and each other’s company. A small group arrived early and sampled the cocktails at the venue’s bar before moving into the private dining room reserved for our group that evening. Four of our newest members joined us for dinner and it was easy for them to get acquainted with long-time members as we dined on main dishes such as filet mignon, steak, and a Tavern specialty, elk meatloaf. The bartenders brought their ‘A-game’ with great cocktails, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, and the food was outstanding.
After dinner was over the second part of the evening commenced. A small group of cigar aficionados decamped and headed to the Beverley Cigar Store located only a block away. According to their Facebook page, they are, “the Premier Cigar & Pipe Lounge of the Shenandoah Valley.” One can purchase a stogie and enjoy it in the store’s lounge, which is what our aficionados did and where they remained until the place closed!
A good time was had by all this evening. It is always fun to catch up with old friends and to make new ones. Remember, it’s not just the cars, it’s the people that make our club great. We’d like to thank the staff of the Chop House Tavern and the Beverley Cigar Store for hosting us.
