August 30th this year marked the 5th Mukha’s Backyard Driving Tour in memory of Barbie and Ray Chung’s Carolina Dog (American Dingo). Thanks to the team of volunteer’s efforts, the drive through Orange, Culpeper and Madison counties was enjoyed by all.
36 cars and 49 participants, including two grandchildren, enjoyed a variety of country roads in the foothills of the Blue Ridge. Although an annual event, spaces filled quickly, a testament to how popular the tour has become. Also noteworthy was that nearly all the participants had attended previous iterations including quite a few who participated in all four of the previous tours.
The drive was engaging and the lunch at the drive’s end point, Gordonsville Ice House, was delectable as always. The camaraderie really made the day special. What a way to remember Mukha. We really have a great group of people; members who also happen to like Porsches. It is truly about the people, the friendships and connections. We hope next year’s Mukha’s Drive will be as successful as this year’s.
