Everyone likes a pat on the back now and then and to hear ‘Job well done, thank you’. Now we’re taking that thanks to the next level with our very own challenge coin. For those unfamiliar with them, a challenge coin, also known as unit coin or commander’s coin, is a coin bearing an organization’s insignia or emblem and carried by the organization’s members. Historically, challenge coins have been presented by unit commanders in recognition of special achievement by a member of the unit.

To codify the challenge coin, we’ve written a mission statement for its presentation:

Challenge coins will be given to Shenandoah Region and other Porsche Club of America members as a reward for their hard work, excellence or a completion of a very difficult task in support of our region’s activities.

Coins will be awarded at events throughout the year and we’ll recognize the recipients with a website news post and log the awards on our website’s Member Spotlight page.
