The Shenandoah Region and First Settlers Region of the Porsche Club of America (PCA) joined forces to present the 29th Richmond Porsche Meet (RPM) a memorable weekend celebrating Porsches, friendships, competition, and giving back to the community. The weekend began Friday evening with a cocktail party at Porsche Richmond giving PCA members and guests an opportunity to reconnect with old friends, meet new ones, and get the RPM weekend off to a great start. Saturday’s activities moved to the Richmond Raceway NASCAR complex where more than 330 people and over 225 Porsches came together for a full day of activities. One of the highlights was the Porsche Corral Competition featuring eight different car classes. Attendees used electronic voting via a phone app to select their favorites thus adding a fun and interactive element to the traditional people’s choice competition.
While the car corral was underway the RPM autocross was in full swing providing plenty of action for drivers and spectators alike. While not watching the autocross, a silent auction with many great items to bid on as well as vendor STD Diecast who offered an impressive selection of Porsche models for collectors and enthusiasts.
Members and guests gathered for lunch in the Torque Room Tower overlooking the Richmond Raceway complex. The program provided another opportunity for members of both regions to enjoy the camaraderie that has helped make RPM a successful PCA tradition for three decades. After the meal the RPM 2026 Porsche Corral awards were presented to the following:
- Best 356: Paul Bacon for his 1958 Porsche 356
- Best Boxster/Cayman: Brett Havens for his 2024 Porsche Spyder RS
- Best Transaxle: Andrew McCulley for his 1978 Porsche 928 GTS
- Best Water-Cooled 911: Charlene Christie for her 2017 Porsche 911 4S Cabriolet
- Best Air-Cooled 911/912/914: Engelbert Muelhaupt for his 1971 Porsche 911T
- Best Sedan: Bill Sanders or his 2023 Porsche Panamera 4 Sport Turismo
- Best SUV: Amanda Cao for her 2017 Porsche Macan
- Best Exotic/Race Car: Joe Acquaye for his 1991 Singer (2017) Carrera 2 Coupe
- The top honor of the day, the Alex Smith Award, went to Engelbert Muelhaupt for his beautiful 1971 Porsche 911T. Making the presentation particularly special was the presence of Alex Smith, founder of the Richmond Porsche Meet, who personally presented the trophy to Engelbert.
Giving back was also an important part of this year’s event. Through the generosity of RPM participants, nearly $2,000 was raised for Track Heroes, a new charity supported by the event.
After a full day at Richmond Raceway RPM wasn’t finished yet. Following two parade laps around the track, an impressive 83 Porsches departed the raceway for a fun run to Intermission Brewery, an arcade brewery, providing a fitting and enjoyable conclusion to the weekend.
The 29th Richmond Porsche Meet demonstrated what PCA is all about—great cars, spirited competition, charitable giving, and, most importantly, the friendships created through a shared enthusiasm for Porsche. Bringing together more than 330 participants and 225 Porsches, the combined efforts of the Shenandoah and First Settlers Regions made the 29th RPM a weekend to remember and a fitting celebration of three decades of Richmond Porsche Meet history.
